Spurs Will Be Back Friday Against Portland. Since There Is No Game, How About We Go Over Rookies - My Opinion Top 21 Rookies Thus Far

Spurs fans. It's a break in the schedule as the Spurs last played against New Orleans on Sunday evening. Their next game is Friday against the Trailblazers on the road in Portland, Oregon at 7PM Pacific Time.

So I decided to run a Points Created Top 21 Rookies based on either if they were lottery or they have played a significant amount of minutes or have strong statistical output. I will say right away that The Points Created Per Min and Per Game Scores have favored Bigs over Smaller Players and that, like I always say, Players who excel at things that do not show up in Box Scores like Position Defense or moving the ball that leads to the pass that leads to the pass that gets the Assist, and such, they don't get any favor on their own Points Created Output but the output shows up AGAINST their opponents. In essence, those things affect how well their opponents play and that shows up.

For example, on the night that the Spurs beat the Warriors, Stephon Castle and his teammates halved Steph Curry, You can read and see for yourself about that night here:

Here is an excerpt form that article:

Again, Points Created Per Minute Stat is like a Batting Average. The Higher the Score, the better and more efficient a player is. Again, I want to point out that all stats used in the calculation are Box Score Stats so things like Pressure or SOLID Position Defense don't show up for a player like Stephon Castle on his PC Per Minute Score. However, if you look at Steph Curry's typical outputs, you will find that for this game, Stephon Castle, with the combined efforts of the Spurs Team Defense, they effectively halved his output.

For the season at the night of the matchup, Curry is at .791 and 23.53 In essence, The Castle Effect HALVED Steph Curry

For comparison, The Spurs Best is Victor Wembanyama who is currently at .849 Min and 26.7 Per Game

Now, on to the Rookies!
I basically took all the lottery picks and then looked at the NBA.Com site to see if there were any other rookies who had decent statistical output(Think they were provided ample minutes to play due to injuries or they were just that good that their respective teams needed to play them.)

Rookies do not tend to score highly in Year One unless they are special. For as well as Stephon Castle has played for the Spurs, on Per Minute Level he is NOT Top 10 but on a Per Game Level, he is.

The stats should be sortable so you can check the PC Per Minute and PC Per Game Stats to see who provides the most. Zach Edey is really, really efficient in the minutes he provides the Grizzlies. And he has made 6 of 10 attempts from behind the 3 Point Line.
