Donte DiVincenzo led the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 112-110 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night, scoring a game-high 26 points. Rudy Gobert contributed 17 points and 15 rebounds as the Timberwolves won their third straight. Julius Randle added 16 points, and Jaden McDaniels recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds for Minnesota.

Despite being fined $100,000 earlier in the day for continued use of profanity in postgame media comments, Anthony Edwards was held to 14 points, 11 below his season average. In the closing seconds, the Spurs had one final chance to tie the game, but Jeremy Sochan's 3-point attempt fell short.

San Antonio was led by Victor Wembanyama's impressive performance, as he scored a team-high 34 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Harrison Barnes added 24 points, Devin Vassell scored 22, and Chris Paul dished out 14 assists for the Spurs.

The Timberwolves overcame a poor shooting night from 3-point range, making just 11 of 44 attempts. However, a key moment came in the fourth quarter when Randle's driving layup against Wembanyama was initially called an offensive foul, but the call was overturned on a challenge by Timberwolves coach Chris Finch, allowing Minnesota to maintain the lead for the rest of the game.

Starting with Game 32, I decided to add Game Defensive Rating as a way to show how well a player is defending the opposition. *Remember, the LOWER the SCORE, the BETTER the DEFENSE!

Victor Wembanyama capped off a historic month with an impressive performance, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a 122-86 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday. Wembanyama recorded 27 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and three blocks in just 26 minutes of play.

The 19-year-old phenom continued his record-breaking season, becoming the first player in league history to reach 300 points, 100 rebounds, 50 blocks, 50 assists, and 40 3-pointers in a single month.

Keldon Johnson added 17 points for the Spurs, while Stephon Castle chipped in 15. The Clippers, who had won their previous three games, struggled from deep, shooting just 11-for-41 from 3-point range. James Harden led Los Angeles with 17 points, and Norman Powell scored 15.

Wembanyama set the tone early, scoring 17 points in the first quarter to match the Clippers' team total. He showcased his all-around game, including a highlight-reel dunk off a Chris Paul alley-oop pass in the second quarter.

The Spurs built a commanding 25-point lead in the second quarter, which grew to 34 points in the fourth, allowing Wembanyama to exit the game with 8:39 remaining.

In the loss, Clippers center Ivica Zubac was held to just five points on 2-of-7 shooting. For the Spurs, forward Jeremy Sochan left the game in the second quarter with a lower back injury and did not return.

The key moment of the game came when Wembanyama emphatically rejected Zubac's shot under the rim in the opening quarter, leading to a 3-pointer on the other end. Wembanyama also extended his streak of at least one block and one 3-pointer in 24 consecutive games, the longest such streak in NBA history.

Our San Antonio Spurs finish 2024 with an overall record of 17 Wins and 16 Losses. While some losses have been blowouts, indicative of a young team. Others have been 1 score losses, we just saw 3 of them on this End of December Road Trip. There's still work to be done but you have to like the upward trajectory of our Spurs.
