Points Created for Game 4 Spurs v Lakers 125-121 OT Loss 1-3 Record 21-22 Season

POINTS CREATED GAME SCORE HERE!!! Here are the Points Created Game Scores for Game 4 Spurs Loss Against the Lakers. 121-125 OT Loss Spurs record is 1-3

San Antonio Spurs

McDermott -0.088 -1.500 When you ain't making 3's what else do you got? 2-8 from the field, 0-4 from 3 for 4 points. He added 1 board. That's it.

Johnson .217 5.000 Undersized and outplayed. While we respect his hustle he needs to at least be solid offensively. 2-10 from the field, 7-8 from the FT line, with 0-3 from 3 for 11 points. He added 6 boards & 1 assist. 2 turnovers and 4 fouls affected his score greatly but man, this is not what's needed from Golden Big Body.

Poeltl 1.197 45.500 Cementing his importance on the Spurs with this amazing performance. He has played All-Star level ball or higher in every game with this one being his best ever. How big was this performance? When the Spurs played against Jokic, Nikola finished with a  1.324 45.000 Jakob against AD and DHo got a 1.197/45.500
How is that for a comparison? I don't want to hear that the Spurs don't have any good players in the post. Hello? Look at the numbers he has provided. 13-17 from the field, 1-5 from the FT line for 27 Points. He added 14 boards, 1 steal, & 3 blocks. The missed FTs hurt here but then again, he is not a good FT shooter.

White .281 9.000 Not a good game at all for Derrick. The effort was there but he has to make better decisions with the ball. 3-10 from the field, 1-6 from 3 for 7 points with 5 boards, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. I can't recall if he took a charge because the refs weren't exactly good with some questionable calls.

Murray .763 30.500 Dejounte's best game this season and a Triple-Double. 9-24 from the field, 2-4 from 3 with 12 boards for 21 points, 15 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. 1-4 from FT line hurt though despite the amazing Triple-Double he got. Too many minutes may have been part of the issue for the shots being short late.

Vassell .500 17.500 A lot of good from Devin today.Especially the shots from 3. 7-16 from the field, 5-9 from 3 for 19 points with 7 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals. 0-2 from the FT hurt despite all the good he did.

Walker .758 23.500 This Lonnie Walker is the Sky Walker version that needs to appear more often. If he can just add the draw contact while going to the rim aspect to his game, that makes him even more deadly. But other than that, Lonnie's game was on point. 7-10 from the field, 5-7 from 3, 2-2 from the line for 21 points. He added 2 boards and 6 assists. I hope .550+ games becomes a consistent thing with Lonnie.

Bates-Diop .276 8.000 Keita played a lot of minutes and did not do as well as I liked. Perhaps it's because the things he did well are things that do not show up in a box score. Like Position Defense, or boxing out, or a good double-team or something like that. If only that toe on the line 2 was actually a 3, that may have made all the difference in the world. He shot 3-7 and 0-1 from 3 for 6 points and added 7 boards and 2 steals.

Eubanks .792 9.500 Some Spurs fans give Drew heat for his on-court play but in this game, all he did was provide solid backup play. In 12 minutes, he got 5 points on 2-4 from the field, missed his lone 3pt attempt badly, but added 4 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Give this man some credit.

Forbes -1.000 -3.000 The woe continues. Bryn looks lost and he cannot seem to see the ball go through the basket. 0-2 from the field and 0-1 from 3. Basically in the 4 games where he's made an appearance he's made 1 basket total. He needs to play better for sure and it starts with making sure that he is in a position to catch and shoot cleanly. Having him create a shot is not working currently.

Young 0.000 0.000 Thaddeus gave the team 3 minutes in where he took zero shots, got 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 2 fouls. I guess you can say he was somewhat involved today.

POP WATCH - All-Time Wins Record

Pop still has 1,311 wins after his team lost to the Lakers. He still needs 25 more to break Don Nelson's record.

On the other side, with the Lakers winning, Coach Frank Vogel picked up his 400th Career Victory.

I will say it is very strange to hear the ATT Center sound like Staples Center. What's up San Antonio locals?

Team Totals Points Created

Spurs 143.5(88.0 was provided by the Starting 5)

The Star of the game for the Spurs is Jakob Poeltl. He did all that he could to get the stops needed to secure the victory and when it came down to it, missed FTs by the team proved to be the downfall. In 2nd place despite a poor shooting performance, including 2 critical missed FTs, was Dejounte Murray with a Triple-Double.

Spurs Starting 5 PC Per Game resulted in 88 of the 143.5 Total Points Created. To say that the Starters as a group were underwhelming is an understatement, especially McDermott and Johnson. The bench played pretty well overall. But even though Lonnie, Devin, and Drew played really well, they needed more from Keita and especially Bryn.  As we have been saying in this early season, another 3 Point Basket could have made all the difference.

Lakers 135 (106 was provided by the Starting 5)

The Star of the game for the Lakers is Anthony Davis. He stepped up with a huge game and was able to provide the support needed to come back from a double-digit deficit. Even after taking a fall, he was able to stay in the game and play in the overtime period. Following him for a close 2nd, was Russell Westbrook. Typically, in the past, the Spurs would simply challenge Westbrook to make outside shots and take as many as he could to keep the ball out of the hands of other scorers. He took a lot but he made a lot and well, lots of it was from 10 feet and in. AD, of course, got his. Add the other .900 + scores from Jordan and Howard in limited minutes and well, they are off to a 2-2 start.

Lakers Starting 5 PC Per Game resulted in 106 of the 135 Total Points Created. To say they were able to put those numbers up without LeBron James is saying something. Experience vs Youth, Grit vs Enthusiasm, Inside vs Outside. Well, Experience, Grit, and a strong Inside game got the Lakers the W.

Los Angeles Lakers

Davis .952 40.000 He played great but seriously, Jakob outplayed the great Anthony Davis. He got some star treatment throughout the game but his effect on the Lakers is undeniable. 35 points on 15-31 with 5-6 from the FT line. He added 17 boards, 4, assists, and 4 blocks. But still, Jakob outplayed him.

Bazemore .177 5.500 Kent started but didn't contribute that much. But still managed to get more positives than Keldon Johnson. He finished with 5 points on 2-6 from the field, 1-3 from 3, got 3 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block.

Jordan .938 15.000 In 16 Minutes, DeAndre provided 7 points on 3-4 dunks, went 1-2 from FT line, added 9 boards, and 2 blocks. That's great production in limited minutes.

Westbrook .863 34.500 Russell went into the Wayback machine and played like he was still the MVP of the league. It's amazing how well he does when he doesn't have to share the ball with LeBron. Spurs did not do a good job of stopping his drives. He got 33 points on 15-27 from the field, 1-4 from 3, 2-4 from the FT line. He added 10 boards, 8 assists, 3 steals.

Monk .295 11.000 Malik was not very efficient but he still found a way to put up points and contribute. He scored 17 points on 6-15 from the field, 4-10 from 2, 1-2 from the FT line. He added 1 board, 3 assists, and 1 steal.

Anthony -0.050 -1.500 Carmelo was wholly inefficient. Had he played 5 more minutes, the Spurs could have used his inefficiency to win this game. In 30 minutes, Carmelo scored 4 points on 1-7 from the field, 0-4 from 3, 2-2 from the FT line. He added 4 rebounds and 1 block.

Howard .917 16.500 Just like DeAndre, Dwight was also a monster in his limited time. The man made all 4 of his FTs. That should have been an omen. He scored 6 points. 1-1 from the field. He added 8 boards, 1 steal, and 2 blocks. Their bigs individually didn't play better than Jakob but collectively, they outperformed all of the Spurs bigs of Jakob, Keldon, Doug, and Drew. Although Jakob and Drew held their own.

Rondo .325 6.500 Rajon just gave capable backup minutes. He was pretty pesky but did just enough to give Russ and Malik some rest. He scored 8 points on 4-9 from the field and 0-1 from 3. He added 2 boards, 1 assist, and 1 steal.

Reaves .250 7.500 Austin was not very efficient. But having said that, he scored 10 points on 3-5 from the field, 2-4 from 3, 2-2 from the FT line. He added 2 boards and 1 assist. In his 30 minutes, he outproduced the following Spurs in PC Per Game Total Score:
McDermott -1.500
Johnson 5.000
Forbes -3.000
Young 0.000
That's pretty pathetic.
